Tim Biggs
Tim is a founding partner & CIO of Laguna Bay. Having specialised in origination, structuring and trading of equities at the likes of Pembroke Josephson Wright, Robert Fleming & Co, & Credit Suisse, Tim is responsible for negotiating, optimising and structuring the deal to ensure ideal entry conditions are achieved to facilitate an excellent exit result.
Post departing Credit Suisse, Tim undertook a Master of Applied Finance at Macquarie University before founding Laguna Bay Capital. The firm was established on the premise of performance-driven absolute return investing, with a focus on real assets such as gold, minerals, land and energy resources. Since inception, Laguna Bay Capital has consistently generated returns in excess of 50%.
While on sabbatical in South America during 2008-09, Tim studied the history of financial panics, currency debasement, inflation and agriculture. During this time Tim also personally invested in real property in Argentina and Uruguay, and through Laguna Bay Capital was a cornerstone investor in Palma Linda, a 3,200ha grazing development fund. Laguna Bay Capital retains a 25% interest in the fund.
